I suspect given as many who’s had positive experiences, these both are quality devices.
USE EXPRESS TALK WITH OOMA PLUS
The price chart shows I’d be paying more, the convivence of spread out Wi-Fi, plus an extra Ethernet port, isn’t worth the price (unless the others are not that good). Because for several years, NetTalk has been pushing Wi-Fi type devices with more features & a quarterly, rather than yearly bill. When my current device dies (at $49.88 wish I’d purchased two), will choose between a Ooma or the latest Obi with Google Voice. It’s been upgraded over the years to 70 down/7upload. Being mine is wired to the router with CAT 7 cable (this was before most had adopted to CAT 6), even when I had 15Mbps download/1Mbps download. The success of NetTalk, as well as some of the other VoIP devices, are using the recommended routers and/or settings required for best experience. Rarely have there been outages, yet the one time it was down for only 3 hours, those who called in received an apology PLUS an extra week of service on the house. I'd recommend it to anyone! What type of home phone service do you use? How much are you paying per month? Have you looked at using Ooma?Īm still on my 2nd gen (non-Wi-Fi) NetTalkDuo purchased in 2010, where I have a yearly bill that’s usually less than ONE MONTH of AT&T’s service. Overall, since it's been one year since we bought our Ooma phone service I would say I'm extremely satisfied.

Here's a great video on how to setup and install your Ooma Telo device. I've never had this problem, because I never talk to anyone that long! :)

Here are a few interesting financial stats on how the Ooma phone service has helped our family save money.Īmount Ooma has saved me over the past six years – $2,087Īverage monthly savings vs Vonage – $28.98 So now that it's one year later I've watched the savings build up month over month.

Pretty hefty upfront cost for a phone device, but I knew it would take me just 6.69 months to break even compared to my existing home service. Especially when it comes to how much they were saving per month!Īfter hearing their comments I took the plunge and bought the $199 Ooma Telo phone adapter from Amazon. At the time I'd had a couple of friends that had changed VOIP providers to Ooma and all had raving reviews of their services. In February 2012, I determined that I'd had enough of the $35.75/month (after all the taxes and fees) I was paying with Vonage. Six years ago I switched from Vonage to Ooma home phone service in an attempt to save money on our monthly phone bills.
